History:
On the top of one of the highest bluffs that overhang the Missouri river bottom at Martin Chapel is a graveyard that is just half a century old. The cemetery was started by the Mormons and the first person buried on the bluff was an early settler of the county named Jeremiah David, who was interred there early in 1849. His burial was soon followed by others and it was not long before all the inhabitants of the Missouri bottom made this spot the depository of their dead. There was formerly a burial place near the old town of St. Mary but when that city and all its territory was claimed by the waters of the Missouri river its dead were transferred to Martin Chapel. For a quarter of a century this graveyard was filled up from all the region round about.

VIDEO: Martin Chapel Cemetery - Orb

This video was shot by PRISM investigator Trevor R. What he caught on video may or may not be paranormal in nature. It is either an orb emanating from the fenced-in burial site, or an insect. You be the judge. This event was captured on a Sony Handycam video camera using NightShot.

Investigation - 6/3/06

On June 3, 2006,
PRISM investigators Bo Kennedy and Kelley N. , along with guest investigators Jami and Chris G., conducted an extemporaneous investigation of the Martin Chapel Cemetery. They described a feeling that someone or something was there in the cemetery with them. The only interesting photographs were those containing orbs, but one very interesting EVP was captured on audio.

Audio Evidence:

(Best listened to through headphones)

Note: Not everyone hears the same things being said while listening to an EVP. Let your own ears be the judge!

This EVP was recorded at approximately 11:00pm in the Martin Chapel cemetery. In the clip you can hear what sounds like a woman talking to a child, perhaps saying, "Little baby."

Note: All cell phones were in the car at the time this audio was recorded.

- LISTEN TO EVP

This EVP was recorded by PRISM investigator Kelley N. in the Martin Chapel cemetery on a digital audio recorder on June 3, 2006. After the original audio clip is heard, the EVP was slowed down by 20%, noise reduction was applied, and it was looped three times. Adobe Audition 2 software was used.
